How To SEO Your Blog - Part 2
Posted on June 3rd, 2008 by Mark under UncategorizedThis is the second part of the “How to seo your blog” posts. There were a few tips missed in the first part so I am doing a second one… Those are the tips from the previous that you’ll need to work on:
1. SEO for Titles.
2. Get listed in less than a day.
3. The H1 Tags
4. The Anchor Text
5. Use bold text
Now:
1. Permalinks.
You need to set up permalinks so that google would index your site pages easier. A page with yoursite.com/post12341254 won’t get higher rankings that yoursite.com/how-to-seo-your-blog for the keyword “how to seo your blog” There’s a wp option for changing them.
2. Description.
In the description of your site include almost all keywords that you have in the title and add more similar to the main ones.
3. Have a Robots.txt
Do a google search about this as I can’t explain and I’m not an expert
LINK!
4. Sitemap’s.
Even though I was lazy to get a sitemap for my site they’ll help search engine spiders index all pages on your site easier because all of your pages are there
There’s a free plugin for wordpress to add a sitemap with all posts/
5. Links.
Again links are needed for getting higher rankings. In the anchor text of the pages of the site linking to your ask the owners to change the anchor text to the keyword you need good rankings for.
Now, this feels updaten! Just follow the tips from this and previous post and get ready for being #1!
